Our Mission |
 We view the craft of stone restoration as an art, not a science. While we recognize and utilize technology and science to our benefit, we see ourselves as artisans practicing an age-old and respected craft, not technicians using a set of ordered steps to reach a result predicated on rote memorization of job steps.
What makes the craft of stone restoration so difficult to master, and attempts (in our opinion) to corporatize a company like The Stone Poets virtually impossible, is that each stone we work on is geologically and chemically at least a little different, and often significantly different, from any other stone. If we are to truly bring out the beauty in the stone we work on, this difference needs to be recognized, understood, and addressed every time we begin to work on a natural stone floor or dimensional stone installation.
Like the poet Coleridge viewing the waterfall, we see something sublime in the beauty of natural stone, locked in to the process of millions of years of heat, pressure, and movement.
Our mission is to routinely exceed the expectations of our customers with the results of our work.
